Shopping discounts - How to make savings and find the best bargains

If you're keen to get one of the discounted items, it could be worth calling your local B&M branch to see if they have what you're looking for in stock.

You can find your nearest store by using the locator tool on the retailer's website.

If you don't want to go to a physical store and decide to shop online, keep in mind you might need to pay extra for delivery.

You should always remember to shop around before buying anything on sale as you might find the item cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Price Spy let you compare prices on thousands of products to find out where it will cost you the least.

You can also have a quick scan on the Google Shopping/Product tab to see how much retailers are selling a particular item for.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use  and  are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone.  app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.

It comes as shoppers are rushing to their nearest B&M, hoping to get their hands on a £15 purchase to liven up their garden.

If your outdoor area is looking a little dreary and you want to dazzle your guests this summer, you'll need to be quick before shelves are empty.

Bargain hunters were stunned when they spotted the popular Vancouver Hanging Chair scanning at up to 50 per cent off.

The outdoor essential usually scans for £25 at B&M in store, and is advertised at £30 online, but the shop slashed its price to just £15.

This modern and stylish chair can be a great addition to your garden and become your perfect place to relax and unwind.

It is easy to hang from the ceiling, tree or any sturdy overhang that can support your weight. It holds up to 100kg.

How to save money at B&M

Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M's scanner app.

The scanner lets you see if an item's price is lower than advertised on the shop floor label.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.

According to one ex-B&M manager, you'll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too.

This is when staff slash items to as little as 10p to clear excess stock and make way for new products.
