Asda shoppers rushing to pick up stylish homeware must-have scanning at tills for just 60p
The deal was shared on social media
ASDA shoppers are rushing to the supermarket to buy a stylish homeware item that’s scanning at tills for just 60p.
An eagle-eyed customer spotted the deal at her local store and shared it with others on social media.
Throws in the George Home range, which measure 120cm x 150cm, have been put on sale for just 60p.
The low price has been spotted at a store in Barnstaple, Devon, the shopper said.
She shared a photo of the item on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group and wrote: “Throws reduced to 60p (!!!) at ASDA in Barnstaple, not sure if it’s across the country though.”
A fellow shopper also found the deal in Edinburgh and bought a cream and a grey throw for 60p each.
Other people wrote in the comment section that they found the throw at £1.50 in different stores, including the one in Dagenham, east London, and in Bideford, north Devon.
A shopper wrote: “Yay Barnstaple that’s my hometown store!”
One said: “I was in Asda Barnstaple this evening – if only I’d known.
“Thanks for sharing, might pop in tomorrow morning xx.”
However, someone pointed out the offer is not available everywhere as they commented: “Not all stores.”
Another added: “Never get any bargains like that in west Cumbria Asda.”
One more person said: “That’s what I call a bargain.”
The throw, which is sold in multiple colours including pink, is made with recycled polyester.
If you’re keen to get one of the discounted throws, it could be worth calling your local Asda store to see if they have what you’re looking for in stock.
You can find your nearest store by using the locator tool on the supermarket’s website.
On George’s website, you can buy many different types of throws including some autumn-themed ones.
For example, a soft-throw with pumpkin decorations costs £5.50 and a throw with a checkerboard pattern is priced at £22.
You can also get a faux fur throw for £20 and a black and white Halloween-themed throw decorated with ghosts for £12.
How to save on your supermarket shop
THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.
You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they’ve been reduced.
If the food is fresh, you’ll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.
Making a list should also save you money, as you’ll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.
Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.
This means ditching “finest” or “luxury” products and instead going for “own” or value” type of lines.
Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they’re misshapen or imperfect.
For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.
If you’re on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.
Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.
It comes days after chocolate fans discovered an iconic bar is scanning for only 20p at tills.
Shoppers were rushing to their nearest Asda supermarket to snap up the bargain after the popular chocolate bar dropped in price by more than 75 per cent.
The huge discount on the legendary Snickers bar sent savvy chocoholics wild in Scotland.
It was first shared on social media by one lucky shopper who said she found the 20p bars in her local Asda in Kirkcaldy.
An average price for an individual Snickers is 85p in many UK supermarkets – marking a major discount.
