PUNTERS can now get their hands on a popular beer that has not been seen in pubs for 30 years.
The pale ale was one of the UK’s highest-selling beverages from the 1950s to 1970s but it fell out of favour and was eventually discontinued in 2003.
But this month the Double Diamond returns to the hand pumps of Britain - to the delight of fans.
Announcing the comeback on Instagram, brewer Allsopp’s revealed the exact locations where fans can get their hands on a pint.
An Instagram post on October 8 read: “Double Diamond has been making headlines again and we can’t wait for you to taste it!
“It’s available now on draught at The Blue Stoops on Kensington Church Street, London.”

The pub is a homage to the original Blue Stoops in Burton upon Trent, where the Allsopp family brewed from 1730 onwards.
It is the brewer’s first site in London and its first new pub in more than 90 years.
A pint of cask Allsopp’s Best Bitter and Pale Ale are also available for £5.50 at the boozer.
London gastropub and restaurant chain The Cubitt House Group also bought kegs of Double Diamond in the last week.

It will be on tap at three of their pubs soon, including:
- The Princess Royal in Notting Hill
- The Barley Mow in Mayfair
- The Alfred Tennyson in Belgravia
Double Diamond will also be available at The Lucky Saint Pub in Marylebone, which is operated by the alcohol-free beer brand.
You will also be able to get your hands on a pint at The Last Judgement in Chancery Lane, The Hole In The Wall in Waterloo, The Duke of York in Fitzrovia and The King & Queen, Fitzrovia.
Outside of the capital, the beer will be on tap in four pubs dotted across the UK.
In Burton upon Trent, you will be able to pick up a pint at the Last Heretic and Beeropolis.
Meanwhile, it will be on tap at The Mason's Arms in Clanfield, Oxfordshire, and The Bluebell in Kirk Langley, Derbyshire.
Allsopp’s said it is in the process of setting up further distribution around the country.
Blast from the past
The news comes after The Sun revealed that Double Diamond was making a comeback earlier this month.
Double Diamond was first brewed in 1876 as an Indian Pale Ale.
It was so popular that it was advertised in Piccadilly Circus and used the slogan “A Double Diamond works wonders.”
After selling more than 50million pints in a single year it was almost nationalised in the 1960s.
The new iteration of Double Diamond will take inspiration from the original 1922 IPA but will be made using an all-new recipe.
The beer has an ABV of 3.8% and is made with Citra, Columbus and Mosaic hops.

Jamie Allsopp, who now runs the family brewery, said: “Double Diamond is our A-list star.
"This sessionable Pale Ale is the next iteration of Double Diamond and we hope will find a place in the affections of new drinkers, as well as those that haven’t tasted it in 30 years.”
