SYLVANIAN Families were a staple among many kids' childhoods, as was the all encompassing jealousy when a friend got given one of the pricier sets.

The animal toys came in groups of mums, dads and babies, all with fancy outfits, jobs and homes. Most children of the 80s will have known at least one lucky pal who was gifted an enormous collection by their parents too.

are celebrating their 30th anniversary, with loads of new families moving to the mythical village. That doesn't mean the originals should be forgotten though, as if you have any knocking around in your attic you could be in for a pleasant surprise.
