Simba review: The Simba Hybrid has transformed my sleep

Clara Wolsey, our Sun Shopping SEO lead, tested out the Simba Hybrid mattress.

Here's her verdict on the bestseller and how it helped her finally get a good night's rest...

Rating: 4.5/5

Pros:

  • Excellent delivery service, easy-to-follow instructions and "setup", very supportive

Cons:

  • Very heavy, especially when in the box, requires deep-fitted sheets, has a plasticky smell when first unboxed

After an extended period of insomnia, I was unsure if the lumps and bumps stopping me from sleeping were due to my mattress or the slats under my bed.

When I was given the opportunity to do a review, I thought it was the perfect chance to get to the bottom of it once and for all.

After a week of sleeping on the , I had my answer — the lumps and bumps were definitely from my old mattress.

The Simba eradicated all the issues I'd previously experienced, and I had the best night's sleep I've had in years.

Despite being a bit firmer than I'm used to, it was such a huge step up from the last mattress that I barely even noticed.

I found it comfortable and supportive, and the firmness softened after about a week.

The mattress has transformed my sleep, and I feel more rested than I have done in years.

Words by Clara Wolsey.

It’s available in all the usual sizes, from single to super king, and it comes shrink-wrapped in a box for extra ease.

Once freed from its constraints the quickly expands, reaching its full depth in a few hours, ready to soothe your aching bones and whisk you away to the land of nod.

You have five hardworking layers to thank for the improved sleep quality.

At the base, a layer of CertiPur foam has nine zones designed to support different parts of your body, such as your hips and shoulders.

Above that a layer of stabilising foam adds extra support and its open structure helps with airflow.

Then comes the layer of 1,900 Aerocoil micro springs that move in response to your movement, limiting motion transfer so you don’t disturb yourself or your sleeping partner.

The pièce de resistance is the Simbatex foam layer, which has an open structure encouraging air flow and is infused with graphite; both of these draw heat away from your body, keeping you cool and so ensuring a restful night’s sleep.

Additionally, the knitted cover that tops it all off is removable and washable. It can also be replaced if needed as Simba sells the covers separately.

This offer has to be up there with some of the best Black Friday deals we've seen this year.

And when it comes to love for the product, you don't need to just take our word for it.
