The sweet treats were axed from production roughly eight years ago.

But fans were overjoyed to learn they will be re-stocked and praised the goodies on social media.

Shoppers shared their excitement via Instagram under a post by @johns_snackreviews.

"Ahhh I remember these from when I was a kid! Soooo happy they’re coming back, I was gutted when they stopped doing them," penned one.

"Used to love these years ago! So glad they're making a comeback," wrote another.

A third agreed: "These were pretty good for a supermarket option! The ice cream was dense and not fluffy which was such a relief."

Others said: "I'm all for this" and "So good they're back."

The ice cream bars have not returned to the UK yet but are on their way, according to the Instagram account.

It comes as shoppers are also scrambling to get a taste of the "ultimate pudding" made from the UK's second favourite chocolate.

The offer will soon be available from Iceland Foods stores, which have already revealed the ";brand new bombshell" on social media

Boasting a chocolate ganache and a gooey caramel centre, the cheesecake has been topped with chocolate spoons and cookies for dipping.

Meanwhile, the price of Galaxy chocolate has been slashed at Tesco stores.

Bargain hunters spotted the half-price saving for those with a clubcard.

Reduced from £3.99 to just £2, the 360g Smooth Milk Bar equated to just 56p per 100g of goodness.

The same bar was reduced for Mother's Day earlier this year, with the offer only available for Clubcard holders again.

How to save money on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs...

Go own brand - if you're not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you'll save by going for the supermarket's own brand bars.

Shop around - if you've spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it's cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you're getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers - supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they've been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars - most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you've got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
