KNIGHTSBRIDGE has been revealed as the UK's most expensive street of 2024.

A home in the sought-after area will set buyers back a staggering £21.4million, according to an annual list compiled by Lloyds Bank.

The ten most expensive streets are all in London with an average price tag of £16.5million.

Knightsbridge is home to One Hyde Park, the luxury apartments sold by the property billionaires Nick and Christian Candy.

Just over two miles away, Ilchester Place, located in the Holland Park area of Kensington, is in second place with an average price tag of £19.4million.

An array of A-listers live nearby including Robbie Williams, Jimmy Page, David and Victoria Beckham, and Simon Cowell.

Rounding out the top three is Grosvenor Square, which was last year's most expensive.

It's one of the largest squares in the capital where properties now cost an average £19million.

With the average UK house price at £356,925, the most expensive properties in the country are almost 60 times more than a typical home.

Outside of the capital, East Road in Weybridge, Surrey, is the most expensive. The average home here comes in at just over £8million.

Wealthier buyers looking for an exclusive street in Wales would need around £1.3million – the lowest "most expensive" nation or region in the UK.

Benar Headland in Pwllheli (£1,345,000) is again the most expensive street in Wales.

Elsewhere, an all-new top three in the North West is made up of first and second places both in Altrincham - Barrow Lane (£2,914,000) and Broadway (£2,905,000).

Fletsand Road in Wilmslow (£2,659,000) completes the top three.

Cheshire's affluent "Golden Triangle" area has long been popular with footballers from the North West's top clubs.

It's home to Premier League stars such as including Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Phil Foden.

  7. Phillimore Gardens, London, W8 7 - £14,958,000
  8. Chelsea Square, London, SW3 - £14,666,000
  9. Grosvenor Crescent, London, SW1X - £13,942,000
  10. The Little Boltons, London, SW10 - £13,696,000

Wayne and Coleen Rooney also own a £20million mansion in Cheshire which they moved into it with their children in 2021.

While Queens Crescent in Auchterarder is Scotland's most expensive postcode at nearly £3million.

It was followed by Ann Street in Edinburgh (£1,807,000) and Glasgow's Elphinstone Road (£1,645,000).

Amanda Bryden, Head of Mortgages, Lloyds said: "London's dominance in the list of priciest streets underscores the city's continued appeal and the resulting competitiveness at the very top end of the property market.

"However, at £21.4million to buy a home, even those with the deepest pockets might baulk at the price. 

"The cost of securing a prestigious address does vary across the country.

"For instance, living on the most expensive street in Wales means paying around £1.3million, although still a significant amount."

The report was compiled from over 1.8 million UK post codes supplied by the Royal Mail in conjunction with the Land Registry database of housing transactions and prices.
