MCDONALD'S has issued a major update on how customers can now get discounted food.
The fast-food giant has unveiled a new initiative to help customers overcome the January blues, known as Deal Drop.
The new discount scheme will feature deals like 20% off the entire menu and £2 off a £10 spend, plus a bonus personalised offer.
Deal Drop starts with a special launch month from December 30 to January 26.
Every Monday, new offers will appear in the rewards and offers section of the McDonald's app, ready for customers to redeem throughout the week.
Two of the offers will provide discounts across the entire McDonald’s menu, either through percentage savings or money off purchases.

Kat Howcroft, digital and media Director at McDonald's, said: "McDonald's is the home of value, and we wanted to start the new year by giving back to our customers.
"This inspired us to launch Deal Drop, a supercharged value platform offering incredible savings on favourite menu items at a time when we are all feeling the pinch.
"We are excited to continue this offering throughout 2025 on our app."
To get started with Deal Drop, customers should follow these steps:
- Every Monday, customers will receive a prompt to reveal their deals via the McDonald’s App or email.
- The three deals will appear in the Rewards and Offers section of the McDonald's App, ready for use on relevant purchases.
- From December 30 to January 26, these deals can be redeemed throughout the week. From February, the deals will be redeemable on Mondays only, for one day.
- Each deal can only be redeemed once per customer.
- Offers can be used for McDelivery and in-store, all via the McDonald's App.
MCDONALD'S APP
THE McDonald's app is free to download on both IOS and Android.
Once you have it, you can sign up with a McDonald's rewards scheme account.
On the app, you will able to browse the latest menu available at the restaurant.
It is an easy way to keep updated and order when you are on the go as it works anywhere you have internet.
In the mornings, you'll have access to the breakfast menu options until 11am, when breakfast finishes and lunch begins.
Before ordering you will need to pick the restaurant you want your food to be made at.
After the first time, the app will remember your previous locations and should flag the last restaurant you picked up at.
If you're visiting somewhere new make sure the correct restaurant is selected as the app will autofill your location when it's opened.
After this, you'll be able to look at menu items and add them to your basket.
Once you've completed this, you can confirm your order and head to the restaurant.
When you've arrived, confirm this on the app and select the collection method.
You can set up a payment method in the app which can be saved and used every time too.
You won't be charged until you've arrived at the restaurant and selected a collection method.
You can also select your favourite items with the star button next to each product, making it easier and quicker to reorder your favourite meals.

How to save money at McDonald's
You could end up being charged more for a McDonald's meal based solely on the McDonald's restaurant you choose.
Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30% cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.
You can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 at any time by filling in a feedback survey found on McDonald's receipts.
The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.
You'll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.
There are some deals and offers you can only get if you have the My McDonald’s app, so it’s worth signing up to get money off your meals.
The MyMcDonald’s app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android phones and is quick to set up.
You can also bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you’re a My McDonald’s app user.
