TEEN sensation Luke Littler’s victory in the PDC World Darts Championship has inspired kids to take up the game.

You will be quids in if they have the talent of 17-year-old Luke, who won £500,000.

But even if they just play for fun, it’s a way to improve hand-eye coordination and arithmetic.

You can buy a dartboard and arrows for less than £20 — or have fun making your own with these handy hints.

CORKING IDEA: Older kids can take pride in making their own dartboard using an 18in square cork mat, available for around £5.

Then all they need is a drawing pin, pencil, string and the kind of compass you get in a school kit, as well as felt-tip pens.

STICK WITH IT: For simple target practice for little ones, make a board by sticking different-sized and different- coloured circles of felt together.

Start with the biggest circle. Glue the next one, which should be a different colour and a couple of inches smaller, on top.

Do the same with the last two circles of felt until you have a board with four rings, with the smallest ‘bullseye’ circle in the middle.

The rings are worth more points the smaller they get. For the darts, stick strips of self- adhesive Velcro all the way round the middle of some ping-pong balls.

When thrown, they should stick to the board on hitting the felt.

Luke Littler and seven other darts stars will battle it out for the 2025 Premier League title

READY, SET, GO: For kids that are determined to follow in the new darts champion’s footsteps, you can get a good deal on the Luke Littler magnetic dartboard set at B&M, where it’s currently down from £19.99 to £14.99.

With 12 magnetic arrows, The Nuke’s set has a double-sided board with a traditional darts game on one side and archery- style target on the other.
