Some supermarkets have already sold out of popular Easter eggs as the chocolate rush begins
SUPERMARKETS have started running out of popular Easter eggs ahead of the bank holiday weekend weekend.
Some eggs, including those made by Lindt, Cadbury's and Kinder, appear to have sold out on the Tesco, Morrisons and Ocado websites.
But experts have told shoppers not to panic as there is plenty of stock to go around.
Although, anyone wanting a specific egg should head to the shops as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Tesco has sold out of a range of eggs, including the 72g Cadbury Dairy Milk Easter egg, the 100g Nestle Smarties in a Chicken Easter egg and the Lindor Milk chocolate truffle egg.

The supermarket reassured customers that it still has a large range of eggs available to buy online, as well as in stores.
The UK’s biggest supermarket has also restricted orders with customers unable to order Easter eggs for deliveries that arrive after tomorrow.
A spokesperson from Tesco said: “It’s possible for customers to order Easter eggs online and there are plenty of eggs in our stores.
“If availability is low in a store, it may have been removed from sale online”.
Morrisons has also sold out of a range of Cadbury, Galaxy and Nestle eggs on its online shop.
But a Morrisons spokeswoman said: "We have good availability of Easter eggs in our stores and we have still have more than two thirds available online."
Ocado has completely sold out of Lindt Gold Bunny in milk, dark and while chocolate in the 200g variety, as well as a range of Cadbury, Lindt and Kinder eggs.
A spokesperson from Ocado said that its Easter range have been a “huge hit with customers”, with sales up 32 per cent compared to last year.
Despite some shops running out of eggs, there are still plenty of bargains to be had.
Hannah Maundrell, editor in chief of money.co.uk said: “There are so many types and flavours of Easter eggs on the shelves - but stocks already getting low in some shops.
"Don't panic that you won't get an egg, there are plenty to go around - but, the longer you leave it the less picky you can be.
“If you're after a particular egg don't wait until Saturday to go and get it. Grab your favourites asap to avoid disappointment.
"Shop around at different stores as they are likely to have different stock - remember you don't have to splash out on an expensive egg, it's the thought that counts.”
