GRAMMAR GAFFE

Poundland customers ridicule the shop after it makes a massive grammar fail – but can YOU spot it?

Poundland said that it was “so preoccupied believing in our dreams” that it missed the grammatical error

SHOPPERS have urged staff at budget shop Poundland to “go back to school” after making a whopping grammatical mistake on one of their products.

Customers have lambasted the purse-friendly chain in their droves after spotting a decorative sign featuring the big error.

The purple glass plaque states: “DREAMS: Believe you can and your halfway there.”

Stores nationwide have been selling the sign for several weeks, including the Salisbury branch in Wiltshire, and the faux pas hasn’t gone unnoticed.

In fact, the incorrect use of “your” rather than “you’re” has left shoppers tearing their hair out.

Contacting Poundland, one customer tweeted: “@Poundland this is setting my inner grammar freak off.
“Please fix this for the sake of my sanity…please.”

Another pleaded: “Oh @Poundland, go back to school and learn the basics of grammar.”

One shopper said: “Oh @Poundland. Surely you at least need an English Language GCSE to create your products. This grammar is offensive.

Another even urged: “You really should take all these off the shelves - setting a very bad grammar example in #salisbury branch!”

The purple sign is stocked in the homeware section of Poundland stores.

It is described as a “delicate decor glass plaque.”

Poundland has not directly replied to the swarm of complaints on social media.

However a spokesperson for the budget chain said: “It seems we’ve been so preoccupied believing in our dreams that we missed this grammatical error.

“Thanks to all the smart cookies out there who brought this to our attention – you’ll be pleased to know that we’ve been busy brushing up our skills with spelling and grammar books from our in-store collection.”

Meanwhile, it was revealed on Wednesday that Poundland is set to launch its very own budget wedding range, selling everything from bouquets to invites.

The company has even appointed its first ever wedding planner, Sophie Bladen, to tie in with the launch and has urged customers to get in touch for advice and tips.
