Antiques Roadshow’s ‘most expensive find EVER’ revealed to be a Faberge egg worth £1MILLION
The Faberge flower was given the price tag by expert Geoffrey Munn
AN item of jewellery taken to TV’s Antiques Roadshow could be one of its most expensive finds at £1million.
The Faberge flower was given the eye-watering price tag by expert Geoffrey Munn.
The BBC show was shown the gem to be valued at a show in the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley.
The huge valuation amazed the thousands of onlookers who braved the hot weather to attend the event.
Presenter Fiona Bruce said: “I’m excited we’ve had such a good find.”
Builder Dan Bansal, 50, said Mr Munn was stunned by the item’s quality.
He said: “I think he was reluctant to say £1million and nervous to say it was worth that much.”
Executive producer Simon Shaw said: “We’ve had one of the most significant jewellery finds in 40 years of Antiques Roadshow history.”
Viewers will see the valuation at a later date.
Faberge was founded by German jeweller, Gustav Faberge in St Petersburg in Russia in the 19th century.

Last month, another contestant on the antiques show was left shocked after she was told she was in possession of a bracelet which was worth around £150,000.
The item in question was a opulent and diamond adorned platinum bracelet which Geoff Munn described as: “the most marvellous slinky malinky diamond and platinum bracelet.”
The contestant revealed it had been inherited from her mother in law – but other details of the bracelet were thin on the ground.
When the price was revealed, the surrounding audience gasped and the owner of the 6-figure piece burst into tears.
“Oh my god. That's amazing. Thank you,” she declared – before laughing she could now afford to buy a Bentley.
