Amazon Prime Day is here - the mega sale is underway.
The online retail giant is staging a 30-hour sale, with more than 100,000 items slashed in price, that will be sending shoppers into a digital feeding frenzy.
What is Amazon Prime Day 2017?
The event is an annual celebration held for Amazon's birthday, and this year it is to mark its 22nd year of business.
The online retail giant promises that it will be an "epic day of deals", exclusively for Prime members.
Price reductions will cover technology, clothing, baby items and more, and some say the sale is big enough to rival Black Friday.
The event first started in 2015, when the digital department store marked two decades since the day it first opened, and it was so successful that Amazon decided to make it an annual affair.

When Is Amazon Prime Day 2017?
Amazon's third Prime Day is TODAY (July 11) – although the action kicked off late on July 10.
And many deals were released ahead of the big launch.
For six days before Prime Day - from July 5 - customers have been able to tune into , where Amazon reveals deals and insider tips.

- Fire TV Stick, Amazon’s fastest-selling device ever in the UK, was just £19.99, which was close to half price

For each of the six days, a category of products are featured.
For example, "Gadgets on the Go" was the first theme last year, which had fitness trackers and smart watches on offer.
The main Prime Day starts from 6pm on July 10 through 11:59pm on July 11 and new products come out every hour.
The biggest featured deals are released between 6am and 10pm, when thousands of deals become available in 10-minute intervals across all categories.
Do I need to be an Amazon Prime customer?
Yes. These featured deals are exclusively for Amazon Prime customers.
Amazon Prime is a premium membership which costs £79 per year or £7.99 per month.
But, there's a trick to get the Prime Day deals without paying for the premium membership.
Amazon offers a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime, so if you sign up to this at the beginning of July, you will get access to all of the Prime Day deals, as well as the benefits of Prime such as free next day delivery.
You must remember to cancel the subscription afterwards if you do not want to continue with it.

The 'epic day of deals' is coming, here's how to guarantee you get the most out of it
- Set up Amazon assistant on your desktop - helps you watch deals from your computer an stay up-to-date on your deliveries and orders after you’ve placed them.
- Add items to your list - Add items that you're interested in buying to and compare the deals.
- Use the app - The Amazon app will allow you to see all the deals for the next 24 hours, then tap “Watch this Deal” and it will alert you when that deal is starting.
- If you miss a deal, join the waitlist - If an item shows “100% claimed,” click the “Join Waitlist” button on the product page. If additional items become available, you’ll receive a notification on your mobile device
What deals will be on Amazon Prime Day?
More than 100,000 deals were featured for consumers worldwide in 2016. In the UK alone, 3,000 deals were available with many more in the week before it.
Amazon's own electronics are likely to feature, such as the home smart speaker Amazon Echo, and its accompanying Echo Dot.
