MARTIN KELLY, 52, from Reading, went all the way to Dubai to spend his Sun Savers money.

The aircraft waste disposal operator used the cash on a holiday with wife Marian, 47, and their sons Brandon, 17, and eight-year-old Toby.

He says: "Nothing is cheap in Dubai so it was nice to have an extra tenner in my wallet thanks to the Sun.

"We had a great holiday, and we even stopped off in Abu Dhabi to go to the Ferrari World amusement park. That was fantastic.

"The Sun Savers promotion is really easy to do and the app works well. I’m looking forward to collecting the codes for money towards another family treat. "

He says: "I saw the app advertised and downloaded it as soon as I could. It was a no-brainer really. I like using gadgets and apps and this seemed like it was going to be really easy. I wasn’t disappointed.

"Signing up took just minutes, and since then I’ve had no problems.

"We recently took a Sun Holiday to Ayr for my daughter Cara’s birthday and having a bit of extra cash was a real bonus."

The landscaper, from Oldbury, West Midlands, is saving his cash to treat himself.

He says: "I buy the Sun every day anyway to read on my breaks at work, so when I saw an article about the Sun Savers app I thought I may as well have a go.

"Then it goes in the bank, where I’m keeping the money until I think of something to get myself. I really enjoy Sun Savers."

Now Sun Savers may be the easiest way to make money with your mobile, but there are other apps that will leave you quids in. Here are our favourite five.

  • iPoll: Get paid to answer questions about products and services you use every day. The app’s short surveys take a few minutes to fill in and you can earn cash, rewards and gift cards.
  • Coople: Need to make some extra money? This allows anyone to find part-time, flexible work at hotels, restaurants, offices, events and even festivals.
  • Taskrabbit: Handy at DIY or typing? TaskRabbit matches “taskers” offering skills with people in your local area who need jobs and errands doing, from moving house or assembling furniture to speechwriting.
  • Qmee: Get paid to search the web. You’ll need to download an add-on and search as normal and Qmee will show you some extra results. If you click through any of them you’ll earn a few pence. Although it takes time to make a larger amount, you’ll get paid for something you do every day anyway.
  • Vinted: Worn an outfit too many times? Sell it on Vinted. Brands for sale include TopShop and Asos, and you can even do a straight swap with another seller.
