Is the Next Summer Sale online?

As well as checking for reductions in store, you can look through items online.

Typically, shoppers can find discounts on the official website from around 8am on the same day as the sale launches.

Put the items you intend to buy in your basket the night before the sale starts.

Items are usually marked by staff in the days before the sale starts and this handwritten scribble is the key to spotting what the discount will be.

The codes are written in pencil on the price tag – such as, B14, G4, OB9 and P7.

Ignore the letters as the number usually relates to the price the items going down to.

Gary Caffell, deals editor at said: “In preparation for sales, staff often scribble numbers or letters on price tags, so if you spot these, it’s worth holding off buying it as it often means the item’s about to be reduced.

“The figure written on the tag is usually the price it will be in the sale and we've spotted this widely used at Next, but have also heard that Monsoon and River Island among others do the same, so it’s worth taking a look.

“It’s also worth keeping an eye on store layouts as quite often items are sorted by type just before a sale kicks off.”
