Nectar summer rewards scheme with Sainsbury’s is back – and it could nab you free Vue cinema tickets and Pizza Express meals
Nectar summer rewards will let you swap 1000 points for either two Vue cinema tickets or two main meals at Pizza Express
IF A trip to the movies or a meal at Pizza Express is your idea of a good night out, you can now enjoy both in return for doing your weekly shop at Sainsbury’s.
Nectar Summer Rewards scheme is back with one of its best deals ever.
From July 19, Nectar Summer Rewards in partnership with Sainsbury’s will let you swap 1,000 points for either two Vue cinema tickets or two main meals at Pizza Express.
One voucher will buy you two mains at Pizza Express, with meal choices including a classic or “leggera” pizza, pasta dishes, risottos or main salads.
At Vue you can claim a voucher for two cinema tickets to 2D films. You can also upgrade your tickets to a 3D movie if you are willing to pay the price difference.
To claim the deal, all you need to do is swap your Nectar points for a voucher.
This can be done either at a customer service desk at your nearest Sainsbury’s store, ont he supermarket’s website or using on the Nectar app.
Members of described the offer as Sainsbury’s best yet. In previous years, shoppers were only able to pick up one cinema ticket per 1,000 points.
The offer will run from midnight on Wednesday July 19 until August 8.
Sainsbury’s will allow you to claim as many vouchers as you want, so long as you have enough points. But you’ll have to be quick using them as the tickets will only be valid until September 30.
Where can I spend Nectar point?
YOU can spend your Nectar points at 128 different brands, which are available to browse using the Nectar website.
Cardholders can select and search online for companies that let you redeem the Nectar points online, in store or over the phone.
You can choose to spend your points at Sainsbury’s however, with 500 points taking £2.50 off your shop.

- eBay
- Go Ape
- Playstation magazine
- Eurostar
- Virgin Trains

In May, Sainsbury’s sparked a backlash online after Nectar card owners reported missing points after shopping at the supermarket.
A “technical glitch” left some Sainsbury’s customers with negative balances, while others hadn’t had points added to their account.
In 2015, the supermarket upset shoppers when it slashed the amount of Nectar points shoppers could earn per £1 spend from two points to one.
