The Next sale starts TOMORROW and here’s a sneaky way to spot what will be in it

The half price Next Sale starts in stores tomorrow and there's a sneaky way to tell what items will be in it

ELBOWS at the ready as Next is starting a half price sale in its shops tomorrow.

The sale often attracts hoards of shoppers who sometimes queue through the night, just to be first in line to grab bargains.

The sale is particularly popular because everything, including clothing, children and home is 50 per cent off – rather than a standard “up-to” sale.

Yesterday, the high street store confirmed that the sale would be starting in stores around the UK from 8am tomorrow.

But there's a sneaky way to tell today if an item is going to be in.

Items are usually marked by staff in the days before the sale starts and this handwritten scribble is the key to spotting what the discount will be, according to .

The codes are written in pencil on the price tag - such as, B14, G4, OB9 and P7. Ignore the letters as the number usually relates to the price the items going down to.

Ignore the letters and you're just left with a number - that's generally the sale price of the item.

The high street shop has already sent out invites to "VIP members" who can book in a slot to browse the sale online and buy items in advance of it launching in high street shops.

It will only send you out a VIP invite if you have a credit account and have made a recent order.

HOW TO TACKLE THE NEXT SALE

IF you're heading down to a store tomorrow, these tips will help:

Get out early: The sale starts at 7am, but it is not unusual for lines to snake around the block in the early hours of the morning, so take snacks and wrap up warm if you are serious about getting the very best bargains.

Plan out what you intend to buy in advance: Scour the store before the sale and note the items you like. Try them on there and then because frankly, trying them on during the sale isn’t going to happen.

Don’t worry about remembering where exactly the clothes are because they will probably be moved.

Go for the high priced items first: You need to sharpen your elbows because the Next sale is one of the most chaotic out there.

If you have your sights set on bagging yourself an expensive coat for half the price, go to straight to that. Don’t hang around by the £10 t-shirts because the expensive things get picked up first.

If you never wear it, it’s not a bargain: Sequins and tutus are great, but if you’ll never wear it - don’t buy it.
