ASDA has launched a new afternoon tea box containing 10 cakes for £3.
The box contains four puff pastry slices filled with custard, four profiteroles and two strawberry jam doughnuts.
Afternoon tea has been a tradition in the UK for over 150 years.
So, it’s easy to see why the new seasonal box of cake-y goodness is proving popular with shoppers.
You can usually get an afternoon tea at a posh restaurant from about £25, including sandwiches, cakes and endless cuppas.
But if you do want to create a DIY version yourself then Asda’s new box is a frugal option.
In comparison, Marks & Spencer sells a 12 piece afternoon tea cake set for £8.
Although, it’s also worth checking with your local bakery too, as you might be able to pick up a selection of cakes for less than £3 there.
