MORRISONS is bringing back its gigantic 1lb beef burger that costs £3.

It measures a massive 18cm in diameter and weighs the same as a football, according to the supermarket.

It was initially launched to help shoppers celebrate Father's Day but due to its bringing it back for National Burger Day on Friday 25 August.

Available now, while stock last, it is expected to be popular with shoppers and will only be sold this week.

Last time, its butchers just about managed to keep up with demand, the supermarket told The Sun Online.

They cost £3 per patty, which is about the same price as you'd usually pay for four smaller quarter pounders from a supermarket.

You can also buy a super-sized bun for 50p, while the rest of the items will need to be bought separately.

The beef itself is seasoned with paprika, sage and parsley, and for best results the grocer recommends cooking it on a very hot griddle pan, frying pan or BBQ to cook evenly for four minutes on each side.

It's not the first time that the supermarket has caused a stir with shoppers for its massive food versions.

Earlier this month it launched a foot-long sausage roll that's double the length of one from Greggs.

The jumbo-sized picnic favourite costs £1 - but it has the same amount of calories as THREE Big Mac's, a whopping 1650 calories.

Meanwhile rival Aldi has also launched it's own massive meaty treat in the form of a 16oz rump steak that costs just £4.99.
