Sainsbury’s slashes price of nappies to £3 per pack – making them CHEAPER than Aldi

SAINSBURY's has slashed the price of its nappies to make them cheaper than its rivals from parents’ favourite Aldi - but shoppers will have to be quick.
The supermarket is cutting the prices of a pack of Little ones Nappies to just £3 as part of a huge promotion across Sainsbury’s and Argos baby ranges - from changing to feeding essentials to toys.
Savvy parents can snap up the bargain nappies both online and in stores from Monday September 11 until Sunday October 1.
At £3, the range offers a temporary discount compared to Aldi's.
The budget supermarket’s equivalent selection is currently selling at £3.49 for a pack of 56 and for £3.09 for a pack of 26.
The move is a big win for Sainsbury’s as Aldi's award-winning Mamia range is one of the UK’s leading Baby and Toddler brands and a favourite with parents.
At the Loved by Parents Awards 2016, the discount supermarket bagged a total of 16 gongs for nappies, baby-friendly laundry products, organic baby food and baby wipes.
Aldi’s quality and value beat stiff competition from rival brands such as Pampers, Asda and Ocado.

Kate O’Hagan, Sainsbury’s nappy buyer, explained that nappies can be a big expense and that many parents are feeling the pinch after summer.
She said: “We want to offer customers the best value on the market with our Little Ones nappies. This price move follows a significant investment in the range over the last year to make them even better quality.”
Newborn babies use between six and 12 nappies a day - adding up to £87 for the first three months, according to consumer group Which?.
Pampers is the best-known nappy brand in the UK, but it's also more expensive than supermarket-own brands.

Which? last year found that parents could save £39 - almost half the amount - by downgrading to supermarket-own brand nappies with parents claiming they work even better than big name brands.
The competition between nappy manufacturers is fierce so offers similar to the one from Sainsbury's are often available.
Savvy parents can us the nappy comparison website Bumdeal.co.uk to compare and find the latest deals and bargains depending on the brand and the nappy size.
Which? also advises mums and dads to buy the largest packs to reduce costs. But be wary of buying nappies in bulk as your baby might outgrow them quickly.
HOW TO GET THE BEST DEAL ON NAPPIES
SAVVY parents can turn to price comparison websites to find the best deals
- Nappy comparison website is a nifty website that allows parents to compare prices, depending on the brand and nappy size.
- You can also use grocery comparison website mySupermarket.com to see how much they cost at your chosen supermarket - and if you can save money by shopping elsewhere.
- It also allows you to view the historical price, so you’ll know whether their current price is more expensive than they are usually sold for and whether you’re getting a good deal.
- Buy in bulk when they are on offer to reduce your costs - but beware of buying too much in one size (especially newborn) as your baby may outgrow them sooner than you expect.
