Aldi’s new ready meals are bigger and up to 43% cheaper than those sold at Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury’s

Prices for the new Aldi Specially Selected range are inspired by Charlie Bigham and start at just £3.99

Dinner lovers will be pleased to know that prices will start at as little as £3.99 - a fraction of the price of the luxury range.

There are three meals the range, including the creamy Specially Selected Macaroni Cheese with Pancetta which costs £3.99 for the 800g meal.

This is seriously cheaper than Charlie Bigham’s Macaroni Cheese which costs £7 for 670g from some of the leading supermarkets.

Aldi’s Specially Selected Beef Bourguignon is a slightly smaller portion than the Charlie Bigham version - which comes with dauphinoise potatoes too - but is almost half the price at £4.89 compared to £8.50.

The Specially Selected Beef Stroganoff with Rice combines tender beer with a rich and creamy sauce will set you back just £4.89 compared to the £8.50 version sold in Waitrose.

Although the Sun Online is yet to taste the meals, the fancy packaging certainly gives the more expensive meals a run for their money.

Julie Ashfield from Aldi said that the low cost of the new ready meals will allow customers to make “substantial savings on luxury equivalents without having to compromise.”

Bottles of craft gin cost around £40 a bottle, so the price is pretty good.
