Last night Ricky and Lord Sugar celebrated the fifth anniversary of the company at a swish event in central London.

And the former wrestler told The Sun Online those looking to make a splash in the job market need one thing above all others - a positive attitude.

He said: "Your personality and your positivity will help you get that job you want. If you're positive about things as much as you can be, things will follow.

"Be persistent. It might not be the job you want initially, it might not be your dream job, but it might a job that gets you to your dream job next."

Five years on from launching HRS, Ricky, 32, now employees more than 40 people and announced this week the firm was opening new offices in Manchester and Edinburgh.

And he thinks some job-hunters aren't willing to put the hard-yards in to get where they want to be in their careers.

He said: "I think too many people right now want the perfect job and I don't think that perfect job exists.

"It is the age of the internet and people want an instant career straight away.

"Some people aren't willing to to take that first step, they want to get to the last step straight away. Not everyone can be a Mark Zuckerberg."

FANCY SOME SUGAR  HOW YOU CAN APPLY FOR THE NEXT SERIES OF THE APPRENTICE

The latest series of The Apprentice started on Wednesday night.

And Ricky still has on-board the lessons he learnt from the show.

He said: "One thing I learnt very quickly is that there's no such thing as a one-man team.

"You have to get on with the other candidates as soon as you see them as competition you are going to struggle.

"You need to see them as an ally where you are doing something together to win and avoid being fired you've got a better chance.

"And it's a message I take away now. I'm nothing without the people who work hard in the business."

Speaking to guests at the event, Lord Sugar said: "He's done extremely well and done a fantastic job."

HRS is a recruitment agency which specialises in the science sectors like pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.

Ricky's top tips for getting a job

Here's what Ricky thinks you need to do to get that job.

1. Tailor your CV - "Getting your CV right is going to help you get an interview. Tailor it to to the job and your background - don't just have a generic one you send out everywhere. Speak to a recruitment company in the field you want to work in."

2. Be persistent - "You might apply and fail and apply and fail but if you keep going you will get there. Keep trying."

3. Be positive - "If the business lives and breathes what you love you've a good chance of getting the job."
