It is made from 100 per cent British Pork and will be in shops around the UK until Sunday 5 November.

Aldi was the only supermarket to sell a supersize banger but Morrisons has quickly jumped on the trend.

Morrisons is charging 85p per sausage or £1.50 for two, while Aldi's bangers costs £1.89 for two.

After the publication of this article Aldi informed us that it had dropped the price of its supersize sausages to £1.49 for two, making them cheaper than Morrisons.

You can pick up a perfectly-sized bun from Morrisons, with a pair of rolls costing 50p.

While Aldi isn't selling any special bread for the sausages, so you'll have to make do with a french stick.

Matthew Hunns, Morrisons butchery expert, said: "Bonfire Night and sausages go hand in hand but many customers told us they weren’t satisfied with a typical sausage.

"So, we put our thinking caps on and created a bigger banger to satisfy firework fans.”

The supermarket expects to sell around 6.5 million sausage in the run up to Bonfire Night.

The sausages are two-and-half the length of a traditional one.

Of course, you can usually pick up a pack of six sausages from as little as £1.

Morrisons also sells a foot-long sausage roll that costs £1.

Last week, it announced a new super-strong garlic bread and the smell could linger for up to 12 hours.

Aldi is set to bring out cocktail sausages infused with Prosecco.
