POSH PUD

Iceland’s new £6 melt-in-the middle Christmas pudding is HALF the price of M&S’ one

The frozen food supermarket has launched its range of festive puds for 2017

ICELAND is getting in the festive spirit with the launch of its new Christmas pudding range.

And one of its treats reminds us of another retailer's pud.

The supermarket's £6 melt in the middle pudding with hidden brandy sauce is like Marks and Spencer's chocolate and caramel pudding, which is on sale for £10 - nearly double the price of Iceland's.

The Sun Online hasn't had chance to taste either puds yet - but at those prices, we're seriously tempted to pop to the shops now.

As well as beating M&S on price, Iceland also give you more bang for buck.

Its pudding weighs in at 800 grams compared to M&S' 680 grams.

If you're after a more traditional offering its 12-month matured pudding is also available for just £6.

It's described as being filled with cherries, vine fruits, almonds and pecans soaked in cider, brandy, sherry and cognac for that extra festive punch.

And if that's not enough and you're after something a little surprising for Christmas day, the supermarket's also got you covered.

It's Christmas Pudding Truckle might look like a normal pud but on the inside its full of CHEESE.

Stilton is infused with diced orange peel, chopped dates and navy rum - and is on sale for just £3.

All the puddings are available in store now.

DEEP FREEZE Iceland is giving shoppers extra cash ahead of Christmas if they use its bonus card - but is it any good?

Iceland head chef Neil Nugent said: "Christmas is a great time for all things decadent, and Christmas puddings have been a highlight of the much anticipated Christmas dinner for generations."

Loads of supermarkets are getting ready for Christmas.

Back in September, Tesco and Morrisons were widely-mocked for starting to sell mince pies.

Last month, Lidl apparently became the "world's first retailer" to sell a Christmas pudding that has matured for two years.

And rival Aldi announced a new range of sweet deserts wines - including a chocolate-flavoured tipple for £9.99.

And if you want your toilet to smell of Christmas, Sainsbury's has already begun selling its festive winter spice bleach.
