You can win this £490,000 two-bed London flat for just £5 – but only if you can answer this one question
Jack and Charlotte Smith are giving punters the chance to win this home for a FIVER if they can guess the correct answer to this quiz question
A £490,000 two-bed home could be yours for just a FIVER - if you're smart enough to answer just one multiple choice question correctly.
Jack and Charlotte Smith are giving one lucky punter the chance to get on the property ladder for just five pounds.
The third-storey, two-bedroom flat in Greenwich has been up for sale for the past ten months.
After struggling to sell the property through conventional methods, the couple said they decided instead to offer it as a prize.
One lucky winner will get the flat, stamp duty of up to £13,000, legal fees up to £1,000 with VAT, and even a bottle of champagne to celebrate.
The flat was built in 2008 and includes two bedrooms, a modern bathroom, open plan kitchen and lounge, and a full-length balcony.
The property was recently redecorated and it is located a few minutes walk from Greenwich station and just a short stroll to the famous Cutty Sark.
To have a chance of winning the flat, punters have to correctly identify a famous ship from a list of four choices - The San Salvador, The Golden Hind, The Cutty Sark, and the Flying Cloud.
The competition will run until January 26, or until 130,000 tickets have been sold - and the winner will be announced seven days later.
If there aren't enough tickets sold to justify the sale, the competition will be extended by six months, and if they still don’t meet the target, the prize will become the total funds raised minus 20 per cent admin fee and five per cent charity donation.
If all tickets are sold, a whopping £50,000 will be split between two charities.
Half will go to Thrombosis UK, a charity for the research and care for those suffering from blood clots after Charlotte’s dad died aged 56 from deep vein thrombosis.
The other £25,000 will go to SUDC UK, a charity that deals with sudden unexpected deaths in childhood.
The couple decided to give away their flat in a prize draw after failing to sell through a traditional estate agent for over a year.
Jack said: "We would like to give somebody the opportunity to own a flat in London mortgage free, London is one of the most expensive places to buy a property and there are many people struggling to save for a deposit.
"It would be an incredible feeling, handing over the keys to the flat and them not having to worry about a mortgage."
