The developer decided the best way to make the most out of the plot was to radically alter the home’s shape into a triangle.

The unique two-bed property is on the market for £950,000 - but part of the garden is owned by Network Rail and the new owner will have to pay a yearly lease of £1,000 to be able to use it.

The house has an entrance hall at the narrow end of the triangle which leads through into an open plan kitchen coupled with a living and dining room in the larger end.

Foxtons estate agent, David Law said: “This is a really cool pad, perfect for someone who has enough money to buy a garden flat but not a family home.

“The current owner is a young lawyer and that's the kind of buyer we would expect, a young professional.”

He added: “It offers unique living and entertaining space and has been finished to an exceptional standard throughout.”
