Asda is selling a FOOT-LONG chocolate eclair and it costs £5

ASDA has just introduced the ultimate dessert showstopper to pimp up your Christmas feast.

The roast on December 25 is arguably the biggest family meal of the year and that means the pressure is on to get it right.

But it looks like Asda has the pudding covered.

The supermarket is set to launch a FOOT-LONG chocolate eclair and it costs £5.

According to Asda, the massive pudding is as long as three standard eclairs put together and as high as two - making it six eclairs worth.

The giant treat is made with light choux pastry, fluffy Belgian chocolate mousse and sticky caramel sauce and topped with a chocolate fondant.

It will be available in stores from December 14.

But you'll be paying over the odds.

A standard eclair is about four inches long and a pack of four .

That means you could get as much as eight eclairs for just £2 instead of a giant one - that fits six treats - for £5.

Although, of course, it won't have the same showstopping effect.

Asda said it was inspired by an emerging tend for oversized sharing desserts coming from Paris.

Claire Reed, from Asda, said: “Straight from the streets of Paris to Asda shelves, traditional French favourites can now be enjoyed by the whole family this Christmas.”

Asda also launched a giant Marie Antoinette inspired Macaron cake.

The pretty in pink frozen gateau is stuffed with a white chocolate mousse, topped with raspberries and pistachios.

And the supermarket is not the only one selling supersized treats this Christmas.

Last week, Morrisons caused quite a stir when it revealed a GIANT Toblerone.
