But it was quick to spot the blunder and the following day it cancelled all the orders and refunded customers their money - leaving many furious about missing out on such a deal.

But in the spirit of Christmas, it has now emailed customers to say it will honour the deal by handing them a gift card worth £313 which they can use to buy the PS4 Pro for the reduced price - or to spend on whatever they want.

One delighted gamer told The Sun Online: "I wasn't really looking for a PS4 Pro but I couldn't ignore it at that price.

"The order was cancelled next morning and my money was refunded, which wasn't a surprise.

"It's amazing -  I can't quite believe that they've effectively given me £300 - it's great customer service."

A spokeswoman for the retailer told The Sun Online it was its way of apologising for the error and that all customers have now been contacted by email about the special refund.
