Run-down yellow beach hut sells for £275k — despite having NO electricity or even a TOILET
The cabin is located on the exclusive Mudeford sandbank in Dorset where prices for the huts are expected to reach £300,000 in the near future
A RUN-DOWN beach hut sold for £275,000 just 24 hours after going on the market in posh Christchurch, Dorset.
THE bright yellow cabin was sold to a buyer at the front of a waiting list for the sought after cabins in Christchurch, Dorset.
Increased demand for the timber huts and a limited supply has seen sale prices expected to reach the £300,000 price tag in the near future.
For a similar price, you could buy a five-bed detached house in Lincoln or a three bed quay-side flat in Newcastle.
The huts along Mudeford Sandbank in Dorset are the most expensive in Britain due to their isolated and scenic position.
As well as the high price tag, owners will have to pay annual rates of about £500 and a licence fee of about £4,500 a year.
Andy Denison, of Denisons Estate Agents, said: "The whole beach hut market at Mudeford is really driven by location. We've probably sold around 40 huts over the years and have found people will pay almost anything for the right hut.
