eBay seller tries to cash in on KFC’s chicken shortage by selling buckets on eBay
A CHEEKY eBay seller is taking advantage of desperate KFC fans by trying to flog a bucket of the stuff online.
KFC fans have been left craving their fix of the Colonel's secret recipe after the fast food chain was forced to close hundreds of branches after a fault with the delivery firm left them without anything to serve.
As of 4:30pm today, over half of the 870 branches of KFC in the UK are still shut, while others are running a limited menu or shortened hours.
And now, an eBay listing has cropped up - although we're not sure that it's the real deal.
The mystery listing is titled "KFC Chicken" and the seller doesn't give any indication as to what type of meal it could be.
The photo is a stock image of a bargain bucket, two corn on the cobs, four fries and a bottle of Pepsi.
The photo is supplied by KFC - which is likely to have been downloaded from online - and so it leaves the actual chicken being sold a mystery.
The eBay seller was unable to send us any pics of the food that was bought on Monday night, but assures us it's being kept "in a safe".
The only description provided by the seller is: "RARE!!! SOLD OUT!!! Need to get your chick fix??? Tired of being clucked around???" - but we're not sure you should trust it.

But it doesn't look like chicken fans are buying it. Since it was uploaded last night at 10:20pm, there's only been one bid for 10p.
If you were the winning bidder, you'll have to fork out £3.40 though for first class delivery.
Plus, we're not sure it would be safe to eat either as the bidding war is scheduled to end on February 28 - seven days after is was listed - and even then you'll have to wait for it to be delivered between March 1 and 2.
That means that by the time you'll get it, the chicken will be at least 12 days old - eew.
Unfortunately the seller has said that they "won't accept any returns" for this one, so if the food turns up less than fresh you won't be able to get your money back.
According to the listing, the "seller assumes all responsibility for this listing", and describes the condition of the food as "brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged".
The user has been selling goods on eBay since 2012 and hasn't received any negative reviews - although we're not sure if this will change after this sell.
The latest on KFC
If you don't fancy picking up your bargain bucket from eBay, here are some alternative places to get your chicken fix.
It seems that some staff have even tried to take the matter into their own hands and source the chicken them selves.
A KFC customer in Erith, Kent filmed what appears to be two KFC employees moving boxes of raw chicken from the boot of a car into the back of the KFC restaurant.
