Walkers are recreating the classic flavours from the UK's favourite dishes of decades gone by.

The flavours from the last six decades are: coronation chicken (1950s), roast lamb and mint (1960s), cheese fondue (1970s), chicken tikka masala (1980s), BBQ ribs (1990s) and sweet chilli (2000s).

The limited edition flavours will be available from this Sunday.

The normal range of walkers crisps will also be sharing in the celebration by carrying the message "Celebrating 70 years of the nation's favourite".

Flavours such as BBQ rib and sweet chilli feel can still be seen on shelves today.

Some of the other flavours definitely feel appropriately dated.

Cheese fondue as well as lamb and mint flavours seem to be aimed at crisp lovers with a more adventurous palette.

We don't know what the 2010s flavour would be as we haven't been through the full decade yet, though It would probably be salted caramel and avocado.

Walkers was founded in Leicester in 1948 by Englishman Henry Walker.

The company started making crisps after World War II to keep customers satisfied while meat rationing took meat off the table.

Over the companies' 70 year history they have risen to hold nearly 60% of the British crisps market.

The Walkers production site in Leicester is the largest crisp production site in the world, producing over 7 million bags of crisps every day and using around 800 tons of potatoes.

Rachel Holms from Walkers said: "To have been a household name in homes up and down the country for the last 70 years is a remarkable achievement."

"We would like to thank the British public for the support that they have shown us over the decades, and are proud to be the 'nations favourite crisp brand'."

Walkers have been experimenting with more flavours this year, including an entire range of crisps made to be eaten while drinking beer.

But for the really experimental crisp lover how about checking out the weirdest flavours of crisps in the world.
