PRICE WAR

Aldi and Asda compete in Easter veg price war with prices as low as 19p per bag

SUPERMARKETS are selling veggies for as little as 19p in a brutal price war during the run up to Easter.

Aldi has cut the cost of Easter roast essentials from 29p to 19p, including leeks, parsnips and leeks.

The deductions are available online and in store from Wednesday March 29 while stocks last.

The seriously cut price veggies include packs of carrots, parsnips, red and white cabbage, leeks and British Swedes.

For just 19p each, this is the cheapest you are going to find veg in the run up to Easter.

It came after Asda cut their own veggie prices down to 20p today.

The supermarket is selling carrots, parsnips, leeks, spring greens and British Swede for 20p per pack until Monday April 2.

So, how good are Aldi's and Asda's deals compared to competitors prices?

Paying 19p for a 1kg bag of carrots is so far the best deal in supermarkets right now.

The spring greens are the cheapest by far, the closest being Morrisons who offer their spring greens for 70p.
