Spanish newly weds get a whopping 15 days off when they tie the knot, and Chinese couples used to get a full month off
PLANNING a wedding while working a full-time job can leave you completely shattered.
But, some countries outside the UK like to make it a little easier for newly weds by giving them paid holiday for their wedding and honeymoon.
Brits on the other hand aren't entitled to a single day off when we tie the knot.
Outside the UK newly weds are able to enjoy long honeymoons all whilst getting paid.
In Spain recently married couples are entitled to 15 paid days off for their wedding and a honeymoon.
Polish and Maltese couples get two days off, Brazilians get three days off, the French get four and the Japanese get a full five days.
Over here in the UK there is no law giving us paid time off for the big day or a honeymoon.
We are entitled to up to 28 days paid leave a year.
But any more leave than that is up to the discretion of your employer.
Here is how much paid leave you are entitled to in the UK.
How much paid leave an I entitled to every year?
THE amount of paid leave you can take changes on how many days a week you work.
You can still get more paid time off but you will need to convince your employer to give it to you.
- If you work 1 day a week you are entitled to 5.6 paid days off a year
- If you work 2 days a week you are entitled to 11.2 paid days off a year
- If you work 3 days a week you are entitled to 16.8 paid days off a year
- If you work 4 days a week you are entitled to 22.4 paid days off a year

If you are self employed you are not entiled to statutory paid leave.

Though your employer should give you paid leave in your contract.
If you don't have any paid leave left you can find out when the next bank holiday is here.

On Chinese social site one user called Jungeng Xioran even said: “We need more than three days to prepare the wedding banquet."

"And how are we supposed to make babies without our honeymoon?”
