MEATY FEAST

Aldi’s £3.50 sell-out Wagyu meatballs are back on shelves

The posh meatballs are now on sale in shops across the county - but you'll have to be quick if you want to snap up the deal

IF you fancy a bit of luxury at a knock-down price you'll want to head down to Aldi.

The budget supermarket has brought back its popular Wagyu meatballs to its shelves.

The posh meat is widely thought to be one of the tastiest and most expensive in the world.

Genuine Wagyu steaks can cost hundreds of pounds in Japan - but again Aldi is doing its bit to bring some high-end produce to everyone at a reasonable price - its 12 meatballs (340g) are on sale for a bargain £3.49.

The meaty treat is now available in shops across the country but as part of its special buy range, the meatballs are only available until stocks last  - so you better be quick if you want to snap them up.

It's not the first time the supermarket has brought Wagyu beef to the market - with the item selling out quickly as savvy shoppers took advantage.

In November 2016, it first started offering the luxury meatballs for £2.99.

They've now jumped in price to £3.49 - but it's still a price not to be sniffed at despite the price rise of 50p.

Last month, Aldi brought back its bargain Wagyu beef burgers.

The discount supermarket first made Wagyu meat accessible to everyone, when they offered the steaks for just £2.99.

They were such a hit the store then launched the burgers at the height of barbecue season, costing £2.99.

The meat is renowned for its distinctive marbling of fat which melts while it cooks, making for a super succulent, tender burger.

Aldi's Wagyu beef comes from cattle reared and bred in New Zealand.
