Freixenet now makes ROSE ‘prosecco’ and it could be our new favourite tipple
Tesco is stocking the pink fizz in time for spring at it costs £12 for a bottle
A NEW, pink fizz has hit the shelves of Tesco - and it only costs £12 a bottle.
Posh prosecco maker Freixenet has launched its first ever Italian Sparkling Rosé and we reckon this could be our summer tipple.
You've probably seen the famous black bottles of Freixenet cava on supermarket shelves, but this is the brand's first ever Italian sparkling rosé.
Okay, so technically it's not prosecco - the fizz watchdogs will only allow booze made purely from white grapes from the correct region to be called prosecco.
But it is made with the same grapes and in the same region by the prosecco experts, it just can't carry the name. Besides, - and what's the difference when you're drinking it?
According to the tasting notes, it's "fresh and fruity with the delicate aroma of red fruits and an elegant base of white flowers and apples".
The fizz makers also recommend that you pair it with seafood or salads.
We also love that it comes in a pretty, crystal bottle which will definitely impress your pals when you bring it along to their barbecue.
Of course, it's not the cheapest bottle of pink fizz you can get. costs £5.79 a bottle - £6.21 less than the newer pink fizz.
