FISH & CHOCS?

Marks and Spencer’s is now selling SALT AND VINEGAR flavoured chocolate…and the taste will surprise you

The VERY different flavours blend well despite expectations

IT'S not something you'd expect to hear is being made into chocolate caramels - but Marks and Spencer's salt and vinegar infused sweets are delightfully different.

Coated with cocoa dust the tangy treat goes down much more smoothly than you'd think.

A part of the high street giant's summer range, the unusual taste may sound more like an acquired taste than it is.

It tastes just as sweet as any other caramel and the savoury fusion was taken from the seasoning for traditional fish and chips.

The melt in your mouth mix has a strong tangy and sharp aftertaste, giving only hints of the flavours.

Exclusive to M&S you can pick one up its stores from early May and a 125g bag costs £5.

The Chocolatiers are the only other company we could find which is selling an 85g bar of salt and vinegar dark for £5.

Speaking about the interesting choice they said: ''Yes, we were a bit curious when we were first told that we can have salt & vinegar flavoured chocolate.

''And of course, we jumped at the opportunity.

''How it actually turns out is a matter of personal taste,'' they added.

They continued: ''Despite sea salt being a staple topping for fine chocolate, the vinegar takes it into a direction that contrasts greatly with the mellow and smooth chocolate base.

''I suspect this is very much a 'Marmite' chocolate that you'll either love or hate.''
