Morrisons will fit new stores with water fountains so customers can refill their drinks for free
NEW Morrisons stores will have water fountains fitted so customers can fill up their bottles for free.
The new feature is part of a host measures taken by the supermarket to tackle plastic pollution, like getting rid of black plastic trays used to package fresh meat and fish by 2019.
The supermarket has also pledged to trial using less plastic packaging on fresh fruit and vegetables.
This comes after Morrisons was slammed by twitter users for wrapping their waste reducing wonky veg range in plastic packaging.
But Morrisons is only planning to open one new store this year, so there will be one lonely supermarket water fountain until 2019 when they plan to open more.
Until then, you can already fill up your water bottle in any of Morrisons cafes.

Morrisons will also be trying to reduce the amount of plastic packaging used in it's own brand products.
Iceland has already pledged to get rid of all plastic for own-brand products within five years.
One of the first pieces of plastic to be removed is black plastic trays used for meat and fish which will be completely removed by 2019.
Customers will instead be allowed to bring their own containers for meat and fish if buying from the butchers or fishmonger counters.
Morrisons is aiming to recycle 100 per cent of their plastic, but currently only 82 per cent can be recycled.
The supermarket has already baned selling plastic drinking straws and cotton buds with plastic stems, as well as getting rid of 5p single use bags.

David Potts, chief executive of Morrisons, said: “Reducing the damage caused by plastic is one of the most challenging issues society can address."
"Because we make most of the fresh food we sell, we’re in an important position to make changes to our packaging."
Earlier this month Morrisons launched 250 basic products with prices starting at 20p.
