USB chargers sold at GAME recalled over fears they could cause electric shocks
The high-street retailer is urging customers to stop using the chargers immediately
USB wall chargers sold at high street retailer GAME have been recalled over fears they could cause electric shocks.
The safety notice was issued after it emerged the products do not meet the required safety standards.
This means there’s a risk of electric shock if the chargers are handled incorrectly.
There has been no reported incident and GAME insisted that it has issued the recall as a precautionary measure.
The specific products affected are the ChargeWorx USB wall chargers (Models: CX3111BK, CX3111BL, CX3111GN, CX3111WH, CX2602BK, CX2602BL with the barcodes 643620311004, 643620311028, 643620311035, 643620311165, 643620260104, 643620260128) sold in GAME stores and online between May 1 2017 and February 23 2018.

The retailer is urging customers to stop using the chargers immediately and return them to their nearest store for a full refund.
GAME apologised for any inconvenience it may cause to their customers.
In March, Game recalled a travel adaptor over fears it could spark a fire.
Earlier this year, thousands of Lee Stafford Coco Loco hair straighteners were recalled over concerns they may give users electric shocks.
Almost 2,000 fires have been caused by domestic electrical goods in England – the equivalent of more than five a day, according to data from UK charity, Electrical Safety First (ESF).
