When did Aldi halloumi fries go on sale?

Aldi has said they got the idea for their halloumi fries from Nando's, who have been selling the snack as a side since February.

Like the Nando's side dish, Aldi's halloumi fries are covered in a lightly seasoned coating to make them extra crispy.

The posh cheesy chips are available from Aldi's frozen section and the discount shop is the first supermarket in the UK to sell them, launching them on Friday 18 May.

How much do they cost and are they healthy?

Aldi's halloumi fries will cost £1.99.

But as you can buy a 225g pack of halloumi from Aldi for £1.39, you could save some money and just fry it up yourself.

The halloumi fries are probably best enjoyed every now and then as a whole pack contains nearly 800 calories.

Nando's have announced new Halloumi Sticks and Dip... and the internet is going wild!
