Lidl launches full school uniform for just £4.50 – cheaper than Aldi and Morrisons
LIDL is selling a full school uniform for just £4.50 - the cheapest price so far this year for clobber for your kids.
But the prices of polo shirts, sweatshirts, skirts and trousers are all slightly more expensive compared to last year.
The cost of the school uniforms items at Lidl have each gone up by 25p compared to last year.
Last year, skirts, shirts, sweatshirts and trousers at Lidl were all £1.25 - adding up to £3.75 for a whole uniform.
This year, the same items were £1.50 each or £4.50 for a full uniform, which means that a full uniform comes to 75p more than the year before.
The range, for children ages 4 -12, will be available in Lidl stores from July 19.
The supermarket, which has 710 stores in the UK, will also sell leather school shoes for boys and girls for £6.99, a gingham school dress for £2.49 and a pair of school cargo shorts for £1.50.
It will also carry a v-neck school cardigan in black and red for £2.99, a pinafore for £2.99 and a parka for £11.99 in green, blue and black.
The announcement follows Aldi's school uniform prices which were released last month and come in 50p more expensive than Lidl for a full uniform.
At Aldi the cost of a full school uniform has also gone up compared to last year.
The cost of a full kit from Aldi last year was £3.69 last year, this summer it comes to £5 - a whooping hike of £1.31.

Aldi's back to school offer comes to £5 for two polo shirts, one jumper and a pair of trousers or skirt.

Tesco is offering a pack of two polo shirts, a v-neck jumper and a pair of trousers or skirt for just over £10.
A two pack of polo shirts is available from £2.50, a v-neck jumper from £4, a shirk from £4 and a pair of trousers from £4.

At Sainsbury's Tu clothing line sells a full school uniform for £13.50, which breaks down to a three pack of polo shirts from £3.50, a two pack of sweatshirts from £4, a two pack of skirts from £6 and a two pack of trousers for £7.
At M&S, a unisex long sleeved polo shirt is from £4, a cotton jumper is from £6, a skirt is from £9 and a two pack of trousers starts at £7.20.
Lidl also has an offer on school stationary with a mix and match offer for two items for £3.
The offer includes pens, colouring pencils and folders.
Most schools in England break up for the summer holidays on July 23.
In Wales, the schools mainly break up on July 20 and in Scotland schools broke up for the summer on July 1.
