Asda is selling Yorkshire pudding desserts – but are they gross or great?
The supermarket is introducing two varieties of sweet Yorkshire puddings - the Rhubarb and Ginger Crumble and Toffee Apple Crumble
ASDA is now selling Yorkshire pudding desserts - but we're not sure they are that appetising.
The toffee apple crumble as well as the rhubarb & ginger crumble puddings, are already available in stores for £1.50 each.
The Real Yorkshire Pudding Company, the firm behind the unusual food combo, claims both desserts have the crispiness of a traditional Yorkshire pudding, brimming with real fruit and topped with golden crunchy crumble.
We have not tried them ourselves just yet but the sweet treats are likely to spark debate at the dinner table.
If you're intrigued enough to give it a go, bare in mind that the rhubarb and ginger crumble pud contains 143 calories and 6.5g of sugar per serving.
While the toffee apple crumble version has 169 calories and 10.1g of sugar - so indulge with caution.
Jessica Dunn, from Asda, said: “We love creating products usually reserved for our customers’ imaginations, and we can’t wait for our customers to try the fantastic flavours of these sweet Yorkshire puddings.
"We’ve worked closely with Real Yorkshire Pudding Company to craft the flavours, getting these twists on northern necessities just right."
"Found in the chilled aisles, the puddings are perfect for any after-dinner treat or hearty snack."
Although we all love a chef who's not afraid to experiment, some of the latest new food trends are making us feel a little bit sick. A handful of amateur chefs have thrown caution to the wind to combine sweet and savoury foods.
These eclectic dishes at least make you lose your appetite.
Many retailers also tend to experiment with their products close to Christmas time.

For example last year Asda launched a festive pizza topped with Brussels sprouts, roast potatoes and strips of roast chicken and drizzled with cranberry sauce.
And some food trends, like whether pineapple is an acceptable pizza topping, have fuelled debates between, couples, roomates and colleagues for years.

Earlier this year, Gordon Ramsay caused a Twitter storm after saying "pineapple does not go on top of pizza".
The celebrity chef waded into the fierce debate dividing his fans into two passionate camps.
