Lidl is launching a Bake Off inspired kitchen range – can you pick up a bargain?
The range starts from just £2.99 and includes items such as a blender, chopper and roasting trays
BAKERS inspired by the new series of The Great British Bake Off, which returns to our TV’s tonight, can pick up a bargain appliance with Lidl's new kitchen range.
It's available to buy now and starts from just £2.99.
We’ve had a look and it seems you can pick up quite a few bargains for your kitchen.
At the top end of the range, is a Silvercrest blender which costs £19.99.
The 1.8 litre capacity blender comes in three different colours - turquoise, pink and grey.
This appears to be one of the cheapest prices out there for a 1.8 litre blender. For example a blender of the same size in Lakeland could set you back a hefty £160.
You can also buy a set of digital scales for £5.99. In comparison, Argos also sells kitchen scales for £6 but these are mechanically operated.
But not all the deals are so strong, so ensure you shop around before purchasing.
For example, one of the cheapest items in the range is a roasting and baking tray for £2.99.
But we found a similar roasting tray set in Asda, which also costs £3.
In addition, the range includes a mini chopper, which costs £12.99 - but the cheapest price we’ve seen elsewhere for a mini chopper is Argos where you can buy a Cookworks Mini Chopper for £7.99.
And if you buy a loaf tin as part of Lidl's range it will cost £2.99, but we found the same item for slightly cheaper in Wilko for £2.
MORE ON MONEY
The Bake Off inspired range is available to buy now but you’ll have to be quick, as it’s only available until stocks last.
As a nation it seems we can’t get enough of baking. The average Brit bakes 49 cakes a year, with cheesecake being the favourite, according to a recent Amazon poll.
Last year, many retailers inspired by the popularity of the Great British Bake Off, put up the prices of their kitchenware to encourage budding bakers to buy their products.
This type of sales spike has been dubbed the “Bake Off effect” as more people take up baking in the home.
