Morrisons is already selling mince pies – three months before Christmas
Shoppers have spotted packs of own brand mince pies on shelves, even though it's only September
CHRISTMAS might still be three months away but Morrisons is getting into the festive spirit early by stocking mince pies.
Shoppers have spotted boxes of own-brand festive snacks, including from its value and premium range.
We couldn't find the puddings available to buy online but bargain hunters have already been snapping them up.
They're not the only supermarket to get in the holiday spirit in September - B&M is already flogging advent calendars while Tesco is selling tubs of Heroes and Quality Street.
But mince pies are fresh produce and need to be consumed within days of buying them before they go stale.
They can be frozen though, so if you are stocking up early for December then you'll need to make sure you have enough room in your freezer until Christmas.
Morrisons has confirmed that it is selling the festive puddings and prices range from £1.47 for a value pack while posher ones in The Best range start at £1.75.
It might feel like the shops are stocking Christmas goods even earlier this year but last year, Tesco and Morrisons were mocked by shoppers for selling mince pies in September.
If you want to mix things up this year, Barratt is launching a retro tub of sweets for Christmas including Dip Dabs, Fruit Salads, Whams and Black Jacks.
Other supermarkets are getting into the holiday spirit too. Tesco has also launched limited edition gingerbread MatchMakers and they're half price until tomorrow.
