It’s only October and Boots is already selling Christmas sandwiches
CHRISTMAS has come early for festive sandwich fans who have spotted that Boots has already launched its winter sandwich range - almost THREE MONTHS before the big day.
Forget Halloween, Bonfire Night and all the other festivities booked into the calendar over the next three months - it's now all about Christmas.
Eagle-eyed shoppers report that Boots' shelves are once more stocked high with Turkey, Bacon & Stuffing, Parsnip Fritter & Butternut Squash and Pigs Under Blankets sandwiches.
The Sun has asked Boots for details and prices of this year's offerings, but shoppers tweets appear to confirm that all our festive favourites will be back.
But while the sandwiches may be a treat on the lips beware the old lifetime on the hips saying.
According to the pictures we've seen, the turkey sandwich contains 412 calories and 3.1g of saturated fat, the parsnip one contains 440 calories and 1.3g of sat fat, and the pigs in blanket sandwich contains 446 calories and 4.8g of saturated fat.
According to the NHS, a man needs about 2,500 calories a day and no more than 30g of sat fat, while women need 2,000 calories and no more than 20g of sat fat.
More on food
That said, the Christmas sandwiches do contain less than the 2,000-plus calories in a typical Christmas dinner.
Christmas dinner fans can also get their hands on a roast in a giant Yorkshire pudding at Aldi.
If you're after crisps to add a bit of crunch to your Crimbo sandwich, Iceland and M&S have launched pigs in blankets flavoured crisps, while Iceland is also selling Christmas tree flavoured crisps, which we're slightly less sure about.
