Tesco to sell spiciest ever crisps made with world’s second hottest chilli
FANS of spicy foods, brace yourself for your next challenge because Tesco is selling packets of crisps that have been made with the world's second hottest chilli, the Trinidad Scorpion.
In fact, the chillies are so hot that staff - who normally wear a protective hairnet and coat when making food - had to wear masks, gloves and safety glasses too so that the spicy peppers didn't irritate their skin.
The super spicy Scorchin' Hot is made with the Trinidad Scorpion chilli, and comes with a FIVE chilli, "extreme heat" warning.
The snacks are part of the Seabrook Crisps Fire Eater range which come in three flavours ranging from hot to super spicy.
If you don't believe us, then you should check out the warning signs as the flavour with the least heat - Searin' Hot - comes with the three-chilli symbol.
Smokin' Hot comes with a four-chilli warning and is made with the cayenne pepper, the same ingredient that's used in a Vindaloo curry.
The 150g sharing bags will land on shelves in Tesco in mid-October and will cost £1.59 each.
They're more expensive than a 180g bag of chilli heatwave Doritos which cost £1 from Tesco and Morrisons, but those crisps don't even come with a warning sign.
If you don't want to feel the heat in every mouthful, you can try Doritos Roulette Hot Tortilla Chips where only a handful of chips have been doused in spicy Tabasco sauce.
But of course, the challenge with the Fire Eater range is how long can you stand the heat?
Just in case you are planning on taking the challenge, you can also buy a pot of sour cream from Asda for 68p to dip the chips in to cool your mouth down.
