RECALL WARNING

Lidl recalls mini-‘Magnum’ style ice creams over fears they could trigger allergies

The ice creams  contain almonds and milk which isn't clear on the box and can be dangerous for those who are allergic to the ingredients

LIDL is recalling boxes of mini-"Magnum" ice-creams over fears that they could trigger allergies thanks to a labelling error.

The discounter has issued the warning over the Gelatelli Mini Mix ice creams because the information on the boxes aren't in English.

The ice creams contain almonds and milk but this isn't made clear on the packaging.

It means that the treats could actually be a danger to shoppers who are allergic to nuts and dairy.

Symptoms of a nut allergy include stomach cramps, nausea and vomiting, itchy mouths and a swollen throat.

In more serious cases, it can cause shortness of breath and even make them go into anaphylactic shock.

Can our taste testers tell the difference between Aldi and Lidl lookalike products compared to original sweets and snacks they aim to copy?

If someone who is lactose intolerant accidentally eats dairy then it can cause their stomach to painfully bloat.

Packs cost £2.29 and contain 12 mini ice creams, each 50ml, in four flavours including almond, milk, white and dark chocolate.

Lidl is advising customers who are known to have one of these allergies not to eat them.

Instead you should return them to your nearest store in exchange for a full refund even if you don't have the receipt.

No other Gelatelli products are known to be affected by the recall but if you have any concerns you can call the customer services team on 0370 4441234.

Other recalls to look out for include a children's bunk bed from Argos after parents reported that the ladder rungs could snap off.

Parents are also being urged to check through their children's toys after a batch of popular "squishies" have been found to be a risk to their youngsters' health.

Ikea has also urgently recalled all of its Calypso ceiling lamps over fears they could fall off and potentially hurt someone.
