BIRDS Eye is launching sweet potato waffles and they look delicious.
The new twist on our favourite potato snack will be available in stores from today.
Crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the latest addition to the potato waffle range contains a tasty blend of lightly-seasoned sweet potato and potato mash.
They are gluten-free and they cost from £2 for a pack of eight.
That's lots more expensive than the ordinary potato versions - which usually cost £1.48 for a pack of ten.
If you fancy the normal potato edition, you can get them for just £1 for ten .
Birds Eye has said that you will be able to buy the waffles in Tesco and Asda stores from November 12.
But if you can't wait till then,
They're priced at £2.50 a pack, but the online retailer is doing a deal where you can pick up five packs for a tenner.
That's a saving of 20 per cent - but the offer only lasts until October 30, so make sure you've got room in your freezer!
Sweet potato alternatives have become increasingly popular over the last several years, with alternatives to wedges, fries and mash popping up in supermarkets and restaurants.
Lots of people think they're healthier than normal potatoes, but actually the sweet potato waffles are higher in calories, fat, sugar and salt than their ordinary potato cousins.
They do have slightly less salt though.
Earlier this year, McDonald's started selling sweet potato fries in Norway and Sweden.
But now Birds Eye is hoping to corner the £45million waffles sector.
Marketing manager Pete Johnson said: "We’ve seen a tremendous rise in the popularity of sweet potato, so we decided to give our classic Birds Eye Potato Waffles a modern makeover.
"We combine the much-loved shape of our classic potato waffles with a delicious new recipe. We’re confident that they will become a new family favourite.”
Last year, Lidl expanded its fun-sized veg range to include "sweet potato piggies".
And Birds Eye launched its take on chicken katsu curry earlier this year.
But the frozen food manufactuer had to recall chicken pies last year, after accidentally putting beef into them.
