Cadbury Oreo creme eggs are coming to the UK – and we can’t wait
They will cost 58p each and have a cream and biscuit filling inside instead of the usual white and yellow fondant
CADBURY is launching an Oreo flavour of its famous Creme Egg next year filled with cream and biscuit pieces.
Brits have already been able to buy mini egg versions of these sweet treats in the run-up to Easter but now Cadbury is launching a full-size Oreo Egg for the first time.
The treats will go on sale from January for 58p each - 8p more expensive than a normal Creme Egg.
The eggs have the same milk chocolate shell as a Creme Egg but inside are shards of Oreo biscuits in a white cream filling.
Instead of the iconic red, yellow and purple wrapper, these new eggs have blue and purple packaging.
Lucky Canadians have already been able to buy the full-size Oreo eggs - which are the same size as a Creme egg - for three years.
More on Money
But until now, they have not been available in the UK.
They will go on sale from early January 2019 until Easter, which is on Sunday, April 21 next year.
The eggs contain 175 calories each - two less than a 177-calorie Creme Egg.
They also contain far less sugar at 16g compared to 26.5g in a Creme Egg.
Aislinn Campbell, brand Manager at Cadbury, said: “We are constantly listening to what our customers want and we know fans went wild last year when they heard about the Oreo Egg.
"So for Easter 2019, we are bringing this to the UK and we cannot wait for everyone to try it.”
Cadbury recently launched another alternative version of the Creme Egg we all know and love for Halloween.
Branding them Goo Heads, the eggs contain the same white fondant as a normal Creme Egg but are wrapped in packaging featuring spooky characters.
