More than simply product promos, these are now mini masterpieces, often with a big-name soundtrack and sometimes even with tied-in merchandise available in stores.

The buzz around the biggest adverts starts weeks before they actually air, with rumours spreading about the featured song or artist, and marketing departments teasing out minute details.

Remember: these are just adverts!

Of course, by the time Christmas day comes around you may have seen some of the ads literally dozens of times.

Every note of the song and every detail of the advert will be etched in your brain… forever? Well, maybe not.
