Matalan recalls kids’ hat and mittens due to fears tots could choke on them
Matalan has recalled its Mouse Trapper hat and mittens set as detailing could pose a choking risk for young children
MATALAN has recalled a hat and mittens set due to fears it may cause a choking hazard for children.
The retailer has said that it is concerned about the detailing on its "Mouse Trapper" set.
Matalan sold 1,387 hat and mitten sets and says it's been able to notify the "majority" of customers due to them being Reward Card holders.
But if you have purchased the hat and mittens set, Matalan recommends you return it to your nearest store as soon as possible.
There are 227 Matalan stores in the UK. You can find your nearest one .
The store has said that you do not need a receipt to get your refund.
A statement on Matalan's website said: "Unfortunately, we have become aware that the detailing on this item may pose a choking hazard for young children.
"Due to the seriousness of this safety issue we are recalling these products, as our customers' health and safety is extremely important to us.
"If you bought any of the Kids' Mouse Trapper Hat & Mittens Set for someone else or know someone who has one then please let them know about this notice."
